The DigiWind DTU Open Call presents an opportunity for students aspiring to pursue a master’s degree in fields related to the digitalisation of wind and energy systems. The call targets applicants for the following DTU MSc programmes:

  1. MSc in Wind Energy
  2. MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems
  3. MSc in Sustainable Energy Technologies

Successful applicants will receive a tuition fee waiver worth €30,000, which covers the full costs of the two-year (120 ECTS) MSc program at DTU. Up to four (4) students are expected to receive this waiver.

Of the selected candidates, 76% are Portuguese. In total, candidates from 46 countries have been put forward for funding, with Brazilian, Italian, Iranian, Chinese and Spanish candidates standing out among the foreign candidates.

The Call's provisional success rate stands at 16% in relation to the number of applications accepted. Most of the projects are led by female researchers (around 57%). Of the total number of researchers, 13.5% are foreigners, of 17 nationalities, working in research centres based in Portugal, and are responsible for coordinating 54 selected projects.

Through this program, candidates with affiliations to a total of 63 public administration institutions will benefit from funding, with a predominance of higher education institutions, local government institutions such as city councils, and health and hospital units.

The three main policy measures being considered for this future Act are: national commitments by member states to reach a 3% target in R&I; improved harmonization of investments; and policies and improved conditions for R&I and researchers in the EU.

Leave the Brussels bubble behind, and think deeper about science and technology with these recommendations for books, podcasts and articles.
