‍NATIONAL CALLS

Deadline: September 13, 2023, 14:00 Lisbon time

This call aims to support transnational research and innovation projects lasting 36 months and addressing one of the following five priority areas: (1) Planning and managing sea uses at the regional level; (2) Development of offshore marine multi-use infrastructures to support the blue economy; (3) Climate neutral, environmentally sustainable, and resource-efficient blue food and feed; (4) Green transition of Blue Food production; (5) Ocean Digital Twin (ODT) test use cases at EU sea-basins and the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the objectives is to encourage exchange actions for researchers by supporting their mobility within the framework of international projects.

Proposals may involve research projects from a variety of perspectives aligned with one or more of the following subthemes: different understandings of crisis; crisis and human reaction; and the representation of crisis.

Proposals under this topic are expected to show how their activities and results will achieve Mission objective 1 - Protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, in line with the timeframe of the Mission phases, i.e., by 2025 for the ‘development and piloting’ phase and 2030 for the ‘deployment and upscaling phase’.

The proposal should identify weaknesses and interlinkages of critical infrastructures to develop and test innovative solutions, combining technological and social innovation, leading to an increase of the resilience and adaptation capacity to climate change in the involved regions, local authorities and communities, assuring that nature-based solutions are explored as a priority and at the very heart of the development whenever possible.

This action should bring together citizens, museums, aquaria, research institutions, engineers, architects, civil society and citizens with artists and other creative sectors to foster interdisciplinary experimentation and entrepreneurship.

The selected proposal should help citizens make responsible choices concerning the seasonality of fish and to fish population decline and, when relevant, to the sustainability of fishing techniques.

This joint topic relates to the Adaptation to Climate Change Mission’s third objective, aiming to support at least 75 full-scale deep demonstrations of climate resilience, to the Mission Ocean & Waters’ objective 1, protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, and objective 2, prevent and eliminate pollution of marine and freshwaters.

This topic aims at designing and implementing innovative tools and methods for the digitisation of (a) visible characteristics and (b) non-visible characteristics of cultural heritage objects to be incorporated into the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH).

This allows for legal entities from low R&I performing countries to join already selected collaborative R&I actions, subject to the agreement of the respective consortium and provided that legal entities from such countries are not yet participating in it.

Each project can receive up to a maximum of EUR 5 million ERDF co-financing, and project implementation should take place within a maximum period of 3,5 years.
