O SIFIDE-RAM – Sistema de Incentivos Fiscais em Investigação e Desenvolvimento Empresarial na Região Autónoma da Madeira visa aumentar a competitividade das empresas, apoiando o seu esforço em Investigação e Desenvolvimento através da dedução à coleta do IRC das respetivas despesas.

O SIFIDE foi criado em 1997 como medida de estímulo à participação do setor empresarial no esforço global de I&D. O SIFIDE-RAM foi estabelecido em 2016, e vigorará entre os períodos de tributação de 2016 a 2020.

Observatório Oceânico da Madeira (OOM/ARDITI) organiza evento de robótica submarina educativa

Vai realizar-se no próximo dia 02 de junho, entre as 9:30 e as 12:00, no Complexo de Piscinas Olímpicas do Funchal, o EDUROVs Madeira 2017, um encontro de robótica submarina educativa organizado pelo Observatório Oceânico da Madeira (OOM) com a participação de alunos de escolas da RAM.
Ao longo do presente ano letivo, alunos de oito escolas da Madeira (Escola Básica do 2º e 3º Ciclos de Santo António, Escola Básica do 2º e 3º Ciclos da Torre, Escola Básica e Secundária D. Lucinda Andrade, Escola Básica e Secundária Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva, Escola Básica e Secundária da Calheta, Escola Básica e Secundária de Machico, Escola Básica e Secundária de Santa Cruz e Instituto de Qualificação da Madeira) construíram um pequeno robô subaquático (ROV - do inglês, Remotely Operated Vehicle) com recurso a um kit fornecido pelo OOM. Dez ROVs serão agora apresentados e testados neste evento final, servindo esta iniciativa não só para apresentar os robôs contruídos mas também para alunos e professores partilharem as suas experiências sobre o trabalho desenvolvido.

Um ROV é um veículo subaquático, controlado remotamente, que permite o estudo e a exploração do fundo do mar e de estruturas submersas A utilização deste tipo de tecnologia é variada, sendo usada tanto na investigação científica, como em operações militares e de segurança, nas comunicações submarinas e em diversas atividade industriais, principalmente na exploração petrolífera. Os ROVs utilizados no estudo do oceano potenciam a recolha de imagens e de diversos tipos de amostras (geológicas, biológicas, arqueológicas) por poderem ser equipados com câmaras de vídeo, luzes e braços articulados, entre outros acessórios.

A ideia central do projeto EDUROVs é proporcionar aos alunos a possibilidade de construírem ROVs de pequena escala, simples e de baixo custo, mas funcionais. Pretendeu-se motivar os alunos para as ciências marinhas e despertar o interesse pelas tecnologias de estudo e exploração do oceano.
A implementação do EDUROVs na Madeira resultou de uma colaboração entre o OOM e a Plataforma Oceânica das Canárias (PLOCAN), instituição que já implementa esta iniciativa há 5 anos.

This call is under the scope of the project “M1420-01-0145-FEDER-000005 - Centro de Química da Madeira - CQM+” cofunded by PROGRAMA OPERACIONAL REGIONAL DA MADEIRA 2014-2020 (MADEIRA 14-20).
CQM+ is a project hosted by ARDITI - Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation and has as direct beneficiary the CQM – Centro de Química da Madeira/Madeira Chemistry Research Centre. The aim of the operation is to strengthen the research and innovation potential of CQM, to increase its critical mass and to strengthen research and innovation in the thematic areas identified as priorities  by the Research and Innovation Smart Specialization Strategy of Madeira (RIS3-RAM): "Health and Well-being", "Agro-Food Quality", "Bio-Sustainability" and the "Marine Resources and Technologies".
CQM is a national R&D institution supported and internationally evaluated by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The research center is hosted by the University of Madeira, which is located in Madeira Island, Portugal.  The research center performs world-class research in the fields of Natural Products and Materials and is currently reinforcing its research team with highly motivated and qualified researchers coming from all over the world. The recruited personnel will integrate a young, dynamic, and multicultural team focused on the development of new solutions for the improvement of human health, agri-food quality, and bio-sustainability (including the sustainable use of marine resources) aimed at improving scientific knowledge and the well-being of the Society.

Experience in Science Communication (topics: Chemistry, Biology, and Biochemistry) and fluency (speaking and writing) in Spanish and Mandarin will be valued.

Workplan

The candidate may have the following main specific responsibilities:
  • Participation in different research projects under development at CQM - disclosure of projects outputs;
  • Development of CQM communication strategy;
  • Public relations;
  • Managing calendars and travel organization;
  • Preparing reports and financial data;
  • Support to CQM´s internet website and social networks;
  • Analysis of social media engagement;
  • Edition of CQM newsletter, press releases, and advertisings;
  • Meetings and events (conferences/seminars/course/press conferences) organization;
  • Participation in general CQM activities, such as science spreading.
Scientific guidance and workplace

The successful candidate (M/F) will be integrated into the CQM team and will report directly to Professor João Rodrigues (Head of CQM) assisting him in all the communication aspects and in other related duties.
