As the main activity of Marítimo SAD is the high level of professional football competition and, as its professional athletes are its greatest asset, the commercial transaction of its passes is the society's source of income; therefore, the risk of commercial transactions not taking place due to injuries that may arise at any time, is high.
The assessment and monitoring of workloads in training and competitions throughout the season will help to better tailor training exercises and prevent overuse injuries in later stages of the season. Additionally, and no less important, is the aspect of training the Footballers “born” in the Club who will be part of this project.
The concept of the “Marítimo Training Lab” seeks to enhance sporting talents using gold-standard instruments, which translates into an opportunity to enhance investment in the sale of players to other Clubs.
This approach opens up new perspectives on better use of Sociedade Desportiva's resources, providing a set of practical indicators to assess and interpret the complex relationships between training, performance and the performance of footballers.
