The general objective of the project is to promote the development of sustainable and innovative aquaculture by promoting R&D for the production of marine invertebrates of commercial interest to diversify production activities that are environmentally compatible by applying an ecosystem approach. The project consists of 3 specific objectives:
1 - Create a joint exchange platform, cross-border and transnational, to develop sustainable aquatic techniques in ultra-peripheral regions that are part of the cooperation area;
2 - Enhance the knowledge in R&D of research centres on invertebrate production techniques of commercial interest to strengthen their joint participation in competitive projects and develop applicable production protocols, contributing to diversifying the activities of the sector;
3 - Assess the development potential of integrated multi-trophic aquaculture techniques (IMTA) in Macaronesia.
